這是文化部維運的網站 http://www.culture.tw/index.php 時不時會有台灣各地的文化介紹~ 不太會有太過於觀光的俗套可以推薦給國外的朋友! 以下是摘錄閩江口外的美麗珍珠 Matsu: The beautiful pearl at the Min River estuary 與臺灣隔海相望的馬祖，不只擁有獨特的戰地景觀，深厚的歷史人文背景及景物風光，讓這座昔日的戰地堡壘，透出不凡而又迷人的氣質。馬祖，一個昔日被稱為戰地的地方，由於地理位置與中國大陸相隔甚近，民國38年以來，注定背負國防前哨的命運，塵封長達數10年之久。它不似金門歷經血雨腥風的洗禮，戰地氣息少了點傷痛，反而多了些神秘。直到民國81年政府宣布戰地政務解除，83年開放觀光，才讓遊客有機會探訪這片有如夢境般的海上桃花源。 Matsu, which is part of the Republic of China but is situated on the coastline of mainland China, offers not only a distinct battlefield landscape, but also a rich cultural and historical background and scenery that gives the former battle fortress a character loaded with extraordinary charm. Matsu is indeed very close to China, which is only 9.5 km away at the nearest spot. Thus it has served as a front-line outpost for Taiwan since 1949. Unlike Kinmen, which has endured some incredibly bloody conflicts in the past sixty years, Matsu has memories that are largely more mysterious than painful.
